Jeffers Miruka

Mr. Jeffers Miruka in a Kenyan business events and associations expert, who has been involved in the Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibition (MICE) and Associations industry since 2004. He is the Founder and President of the African Society of Association Executives (AfSAE), a pan-African professional community of association executives formed in 2015 to serve as the professional society and voice for those within the Association Management profession in Africa. Mr. Miruka currently serves as the CEO of the African Association of Agricultural Economists (AAAE), a pan-African association of agricultural and development economists with over 1000 members spread globally. In 2016, Mr. Miruka served as a member of the government-appointed Taskforce on the establishment and operationalization of the Kenya National Convention Bureau. Through the taskforce’s raft of recommendations, the Kenya National Convention Bureau was established in 2019. Mr. Miruka also serves as the founder and director of the Africa Association Management Company (AFAMCO), a joint venture with the Talley Management Group Inc. (USA). AFAMCO is the premier Association Management Company (AMC) on the African Continent, supporting a growing industry of professional & trade associations, and nonprofit organizations in the continent. Together with other industry players in Kenya, Mr. Miruka helped to establish the Kenya Association of Business Events (KABE), a new trade association for Kenyan businesses industry engaged in business events, aiming to partner with the KNCB to promote and position Kenya as the African destination of choice for global business events. Mr. Miruka is a well-renowned speaker in international association forums, a contributor to various association channels, and has extensively traveled around the world. Currently, Mr. Miruka is also a 2019-2021 scholarship recipient of the Diversity Executive Leadership Program (DELP) at the Center for Association Leadership (ASAE) in Washington DC.
